We don’t know who had the idea to roll up a sandwich, but we salute them for adding excitement to school lunches. Wraps are incredibly versatile and can be filled with a wide variety of tasty ingredients, from meats and cheeses to hummus and vegetables. They’re easy to put together – just add toppings and roll – transport well whether wrapped in aluminum foil or placed in containers, and are an exciting and healthy substitute to plain ol’ square sandwiches.
Before you get started, there are a few tips for making wrap sandwiches to keep in mind. First, place ingredients in the center of the tortilla, not on the sides. Second, don’t overfill the wrap. Third, heating the wrap for 10 seconds in the microwave before assembling helps keep the tortilla from breaking as you roll it. Need to brush up on your wrap-rolling skills? Just watch the video below.
