Pack These Healthy Wraps For Your Kids’ Lunches

We don’t know who had the idea to roll up a sandwich, but we salute them for adding excitement to school lunches. Wraps are incredibly versatile and can be filled with a wide variety of tasty ingredients, from meats and cheeses to hummus and vegetables. They’re easy to put together – just add toppings and roll – transport well whether wrapped in aluminum foil or placed in containers, and are an exciting and healthy substitute to plain ol’ square sandwiches. 

Before you get started, there are a few tips for making wrap sandwiches to keep in mind. First, place ingredients in the center of the tortilla, not on the sides. Second, don’t overfill the wrap. Sante Fe Chicken Wrap
Do your kids anxiously await Taco Tuesday, or instantly demolish a bowl of nachos? Add some delicious Southwestern flavor to their school day with this Santa Fe Wrap. It’s packed with fresh, healthy and colorful ingredients that will make this wrap a new favorite!

Ingredients:

1 tortilla
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup cooked chicken, sliced
1/2 tomato, diced
1/2 avocado, sliced
1/4 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
2 tablespoons canned corn, drained
2 tablespoons black beans
2 tablespoons shredded Monterey Jack cheese
Salsa
Sour cream 

Directions
1. Mix together cumin and black pepper in a medium bowl. Add chicken and toss to coat.
2. Place chicken in center of tortilla, add remaining ingredients: tomato, avocado, lettuce, corn, black beans and cheese.
3. Roll up wrap and pack with salsa and sour cream for dipping. 



Turkey Ranch Club Wrap
A plain turkey sandwich on regular bread can get boring - swap it out for this tasty Turkey Ranch Club Wrap from the blog Life in the Lofthouse. Loaded with tasty fillings, this is no basic turkey sandwich - and you can bet every kid at your child's lunch table will be wanting to trade! 

Ingredients:

1 flour tortilla
1/4 cup prepared ranch dressing
1/4 pound thinly sliced turkey
2 slices cooked bacon
1 slice American cheese
Romaine lettuce
Tomato slices 

Directions
1. Spread ranch dressing across tortilla.
2. Layer on turkey, bacon and cheese, followed by lettuce and tomato.
3. Roll up tortilla and pack. 



Peanut Butter Banana & Honey Roll Up
Have a kid who prefers sweet foods over savory? Then roll up this fun and creative PB & banana wrap from Mitzi Dulan, which keeps lunchtime from being boring.

Ingredients:

1 tortilla or flatbread
1 tablespoon peanut butter
1/2 banana
1/2 tablespoon honey

Directions
1. Spread peanut butter on tortilla or flatbread.
